MassResistance invited to give workshop at national conference on "How to take back America"
Organized by Phyllis Schlafly, featuring Mike Huckabee, Don Feder, Joseph Farah, and others
July 31, 2009
When Phyllis Schlafly calls, you can't turn her down! She's asked MassResistance's Brian Camenker to run a workshop at a national conference on "How to Take Back America", in St. Louis this September. The title of the workshop is "How to counter the homosexual extremist movement". Brian will be joined by Matt Barber of Liberty Counsel.
This conference promises to be exciting and important. Organizing to "take back America" gets a lot of lip service but not a lot of real meat. This conference will also feature Gov. Mike Huckabee, Don Feder, Joseph Farah, Don Wildmon (of American Family Assn), and Janet Porter, as well as Rick Scarborough, Mat Staver, Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA), Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), and Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO). There will be 24 workshops in all.
As everyone knows, Phyllis Schlafly is a legend in the conservative movement. She is the organizer and ultra-activist that everyone else is measured by. In the 1970's, after several states had already ratified the seriously-flawed "Equal Rights Amendment" to the US Constitution, she organized thousands of people around the country and through a long march state to state got it stopped in enough legislatures to derail it from passing. Nobody thought that was possible, but she did it. And she's continued to be a powerful force in the movement since then, running the national Eagle Forum, writing books and columns, giving speeches, and more.
Last week Phyllis Shlafly and Janet Porter personally called the MassResistance office and asked if we'd commit to coming doing the workshop at the conference. We're honored to do it!
The "Take Back America" Conference is in St. Louis on Sept. 24-26. Tickets and other information are at http://www.howtotakebackamerica.org/
