Prominent Singapore law journal cites MassResistance and David Parker in fight to keep country's anti-sodomy laws on books

Singapore law professor thanks MassResistance for our work!

February 20, 2009

MassResistance and David Parker are helping the fight around the world. The latest is in Singapore, where recently the Parliament voted to keep the country's anti-sodomy laws intact.

But it is apparently suspected that Singapore lawmakers may revisit that. Another Parliamentary battle could brew. So this week we received the following email regarding our presence in the presence in the prestigious Singapore Journal of Legal Studies:

To: Mass Resistance

Thank you for making known the developments in North America on your website.

Singapore Parliament debated the constitutionality of s377A of the Penal Code - the law criminalising private sexual acts between two consenting male adults in October 2007. The law was retained after robust debates in civil society and Parliament. I believe Singapore is the first country to have fully debated the issue and retained the law, contrary to developments in North America and Western Europe.

In my article which has just been published by Singapore Journal of Legal Studies, I cited your report on 'Homosexuals brainwashing our children in elementary schools' (p383).

Below, an extract of its introduction. The article which is available at http://law.nus.edu.sg/sjls/articles/SJLS-Dec-2008-347.pdf may be forwarded to any interested person.

Best wishes

Over the years, MassResistance activities have been in newspapers, radio, or TV in places as far away as, Australia, London, and even China, in addition to Canada, Puerto Rico, and other parts of Europe.

We also get emails, letters, and occasional phone calls from people in a wide range of countries thanking us for our work in exposing the homosexual agenda, and letting us know how much it's helping them in their own battles.

From Singapore Journal of Legal Studies - here's the portion that cites MassResistance and David Parker:

". . . Parental rights & homosexual propaganda in schools: A logical next step of the state endorsing homosexuality is to promote the moral equivalence of LGBT behaviour through the public education system. This has in fact been introduced in countries like Australia, Canada, the U.S. and England where homosexual rights like same-same marriage are included in ‘diversity’and ‘tolerance’ course curriculum.

" [FOOTNOTE: See e.g., “Homosexuals brainwashing our children in elementary schools” on http://www.massresistance.org.]

"By downgrading heterosexuality from the normative model to merely one type of sexual orientation, the rights of parents who believe contrariwise to ensure their children are educated in accordance with their religious or moral values is undermined.

"For example, the father of a 5 year old boy attending a Massachusetts school objected to the course curriculum which, in depicting familial diversities, included same-sex couples raising children. This was contrary to his faith convictions. Subsequently, the Massachusetts District Court dismissed a suit against the school board for violating Fourth Amendment due process rights to direct the moral upbringing of their children. Judge Wolf pointed out that Massachusetts law prohibited sexual orientation discrimination. He emphasised that the Massachusetts Supreme Court considered that banning ‘same-sex marriage’was a “deep and scarring hardship” on “a very real segment of the community for no rational reason”.248 In the judge’s mind, there was clear “value to the community” of teaching students to respect differences in their personal interactions with others, to prepare them for citizenship. Parents were left without a say while their children were indoctrinated with a government approved radical sexual liberationist ideology.
