MassResistance's Brian Camenker speaks at national "How to take back America" Conference in St. Louis
A huge success -- with Congressmen and others from around the country
Posted: October 2, 2009
The "How to take back America" conference last week in St. Louis was a resounding success. Organized by legendary activist Phyllis Schlafly and her Eagle Forum Organization, along with the American Family Association, Janet Folger Porter, and others, it was attended by over 600 people and 100,000 people viewed it online.

When told Brian was from MassResistance, Gov. Huckabee said, "I know. I get your emails."

Participating at the conference were Gov. Mike Huckabee, several members of Congress, including Rep. Tom Price (R-GA), Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), Rep. Steve King (R-IA), Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ), Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA) and Rep. Todd Aiken (R-MO), plus Lt. General William Boykin, and special guest "Joe the Plumber" Wurzelbacher.

MassResistance represented the grassroots pro-family movement. Brian Camenker gave a presentation on "How to counter the homosexual extremist movement" along with Attorney Matt Barber of Liberty Counsel.

Other topics covered at the conference included the "cap and trade" energy tax, new media technology, illegal aliens, socialism and health care, Islam, organizing churches, feminist attacks on marriage and motherhood, gay attacks on the military, abortion, ACORN, legal battles, global warming, the North American Union, and many others.

Kitty Werthmann, who lived in Austria under the Nazi regime for seven years, gave a stirring talk on the frightening parallels between the gradual changes that the government imposed then and the changes happening in the US today.

    | Elaine Donnelly of the Center for Military Readiness discussed "How to stop feminist and gay attacks on the military," including attempts to normalize homosexual behavior in the armed forces. | |
By many accounts this was the best conference of its kind in memory. Over twice as many people attended than any other previous Eagle Forum conference. It was quite powerful and very useful. These speakers have been in the fight. They weren't the mushy RINO types one sees at a lot of "conservative" conferences these days. Like Phyllis Schlafly herself, they were the "real thing" on every subject! It was God and country -- and unflinching, refreshing non-politically-correct sanity.
MassResistance a strong draw
As soon as Camenker arrived to the hotel late Friday morning he was brought into a room to join Phyllis Schlafly and others at a press conference for local and regional media. Phyllis introduced him, and he talked about what MassResistance would be contributing to the conference.

After the press conference Camenker was interviewed on three national radio networks: VCY America, American Family Association network, and the Bott Radio Network. They wanted to hear about our work in Massachusetts!

We certainly got people's attention. A lot of the conference attendees and even many of the other presenters were interested in our work. What we do in Massachusetts is very important to people across the country. Much of the conservative movement is seen as stagnant and ineffective on some of these issues. We were given the impression that MassResistance is seen as a model for the future by many.

The American Family Association (AFA) had a professional video crew there taping the event. They are now preparing CDs that will available very soon.
