When the radical Left completely controls power in a state, its barbarism expands.

The transgender medical mutilation of children and the new abortion pills are gruesome examples of the Left’s increasing brutality. As the dangers of these treatments become widely known, they are being questioned by the courts and the federal government. And many states have been taking action to protect their citizens by banning or severely restricting them.

As a result of that backlash, horrific “gender” clinics across the U.S. are closing down. And states are passing laws banning abortion drugs such as Mifepristone, which besides killing babies often harm the mothers.

Massachusetts, where far-left Democrats control the Legislature, is doing the opposite. On July 31, 2025 the Legislature passed the so-called “shield law”. It is among the most aggressive and offensive anti-family laws anywhere in America. Days later the state’s radical “out” lesbian governor signed it.

But MassResistance reveals what the law does and exposes what it intends to conceal

What does this new law do and what is it trying to hide? Given its extreme nature, its details have gotten surprisingly little press or reaction in Massachusetts pro-family circles. And GOP lawmakers were frustratingly subdued during the legislative process.

But similar laws are spreading across the country’s “blue” areas - and even "red" areas - so people need to be ready. (Nearly two dozen other states have already passed some form of law protecting "transgender" treatments for children and/or abortion.)

This new law greatly expands upon a 2022 Massachusetts law that declared abortions and “transgender affirming” medical procedures to be “legally protected” rights. Lawsuits by out-of-state parents against doctors who performed these procedures on their children could be considered “abusive litigation” and open to counter-charges.

The 2025 “shield law” has gone beyond that and includes these outrageous decrees:

• Requires hospitals to perform abortions when they deem it “necessary.” Requires that insurance plans cover abortions with no patient cost-sharing.
• Protects doctors from any criminal prosecution or professional discipline if they violate the laws of other states (e.g., by shipping abortion pills or transgender “medicine” to those states).
• The names of doctors providing abortion or “gender” care are now protected as “private information” - exempt from public records requests.
• Bans Massachusetts law enforcement, civil service employees, and other officials from helping other states enforce their laws regarding any abortion and transgender medical services to minors.
• Restricts state and local agencies from cooperating with out-of-state or federal investigations into abortions, abortion pills, or “gender-affirming” care that is legal in Massachusetts. (This is meant in part to protect the providers from so-called “abusive litigation” from parents or the victims of medical malpractice.)
• Blocks out-of-state parents’ custody or child-protection orders that restrict their child from getting an abortion or transgender treatment when brought to Massachusetts. Prohibits companies from complying with out-of-state legal demands for information about these “services” given to children.
• Requires that prescription drugs for abortions and transgender treatments for minors not have the doctor’s name on the labels, and such drugs are now exempt from the state’s prescription monitoring program.
• Bans communication of information about abortion procedures or transgender medical procedures on children, including the names of the providers, by any healthcare related organizations.

Massachusetts GOP State House leadership voted for this horrible bill

The Democrats have a super-majority in both houses of the Massachusetts Legislature. But if the state’s Republicans were in control, would things really be much different? (If you lament that your state is full of RINOS, take a look at how bad it is in Massachusetts!)

Both the GOP Senate leader (Sen. Bruce Tarr) and House leader (Rep. Brad Jones) voted for this unbelievable bill. Moreover, the Massachusetts State Republican Party (which brazenly leans pro-abortion and pro-LGBT) puts out fiery press releases on almost everything – but had no comment on the passage of this vile bill.

Who are these evil doctors providing “transgender” treatments to minors?

As listed above, the “shield law” goes beyond protecting the providers of these “services” from legal and professional consequences. It goes to extraordinary lengths to keep their identities from the public. MassResistance isn’t standing still for that!

There has been considerable outrage across the country about these “gender” doctors who make lots of money performing gruesome medical procedures on confused children, often mutilating and sterilizing them.

Until a few years ago, Boston Children’s Hospital was proud of these doctors, and listed them on its website. But now the names on the “gender clinic” staff page are removed:

MassResistance exposed a boatload of the local perpetrators!

In 2023, MassResistance published a shocking 70-page Special Report exposing the treatments and surgeries done on children in the infamous Boston Children’s Hospital “gender” clinic. (Caution: Much of it is very upsetting to read!)

In that report (starting on p. 6, with a staff list beginning on p. 57) is a long list of names of doctors and staff. These were posted prominently on the Boston Children’s Hospital website just a few years ago.

Many of those people are probably still there, doing their terrible deeds and making lots of money at it.

We could see that the “gender” radicals sensed danger and wanted to cover their tracks. Not surprisingly, the new “shield law” helps them with their deceit.

Final thoughts

It boggles the mind that civilized society has come to championing these barbaric acts.

If nothing else, this “shield law” would appear to violate the “full faith and credit” clause of the US Constitution. States can’t act like independent countries. They must respect the “public acts, records, and judicial proceedings of every other state.” But that doesn’t matter to the arrogant leftists (both Democrat and Republican) in the Massachusetts Legislature.

Looks like some big court challenges will be coming.
